The suspense! The drama! Will he get out of this alive?!?
Tune in Friday for the next update - three this week, thanks to the fact that these pages didn't require much actual drawing.
LOL that's awesome! I love all these shadows and arguing XD
Neither of those things is going away any time soon. ;)
Nice choice in colour for the low-light. The browny-greys work really well.
One of these days someone's going to take Taran's attempts at self-sacrificing heroism seriously. He's probably not going to be a happy camper on that day...
Thanks! Yeah, I had to experiment a little on how exactly to portray this scene. Doing just dialog bubbles on black screen didn't work - sadly, because that would have saved me a lot of time!
And Taran, yes, poor boy. It's the thought that counts, though, right? As naive as he is, he's totally sincere. Sometimes I think that's why these books have been largely forgotten. They aren't cynical enough for modern youth.
They aren't cynical enough for the American Library Association, anyway. I think modern youth might not mind.
From what I see in libraries lately, I think modern youth are so glutted with badly-written pop fantasy they wouldn't know good literature if it bit them in the butt.
I've been wondering how you were going to do this scene... it looks great!
I actually tried to do a page that was completely black with just dialog bubbles. But it didn't work. :P
