The exciting prospect of visiting the motherland has made Eilonwy unusually demonstrative. :)
See you in a couple weeks and a few thousand miles, friends. If you're a facebook follower, I'll be posting photos, videos, and whatever other interesting potentially-relatable tidbits I think of on that page, linkage here.
For those readers who don't know the connection, the Prydain books were inspired by and heavily based on the ancient mythology and landscape of Wales. I've always wanted to visit there to get a firsthand "feel" for it, and this is a trip I've dreamed about for 20 years. At the very least I'll be getting some good reference material for authentic landscapes for the comic!
Oh my gosh! Have a blast! And cute page ;) I'm jealous, I'd love to go to my dream place too (Japan) (as it weren't obvious with RnK right, lol). I'll wait patiently here for your return to CF!
I'd love to go to Japan, too. My husband has been to Tokyo many times for work and has nothing but wonderful things to say about it. I really hope we'll make a family trip there one day.
Ooooh have fun :D also they are so cute here <3
hehehe thanks. And yeah...since I have so little opportunity for affectionate displays in the actual text, I have to squeeze it in somewhere! :)
Oh, wow. have a fantastic time! I've always wanted to go to Wales for much the same reason, but never got closer than Ireland. (I think I need to get my wife to read the books!)
And MAN, they're a cute couple. Another great strip; I'm waiting with bated breath for the tale to resume!
We are actually spending three days in Ireland, which has been on my bucket list for years, before heading to Wales. I have no doubt I will find much to love about both! (Except possibly the weather, haha)
This page is ineffably cute! Enjoy your time in Wales! I'm so happy for you! And what are you talking about? Of course Wales is Prydain! Who told you it wasn't? (Shh, be quite Mr. Alexander.) :) Have a great time!
Lol don't worry I am totally convinced!
Nice! Enjoy the land of impossible spelling!
You should consider doing a side comic that's straight greyscale. I really like your simple black and white stuff. A slice of life comic, perhaps?
I have thought of doing that, and done a few side strips of life with my kids and dogs. Maybe I'll throw a few up, though it would take coming up with a real storyline to make it motivating.
Read these books in fourth grade, loved them. Need to go back again. Beautiful comic
Thanks for dropping in and glad you enjoyed it! Stick around; it'll start up again soon.
D'AWWWWW. That last "frame" (do you call it that when there are no borders?) is utterly adorable.
I think it's technically called a "bleed frame"? But d'awwww is the appropriate response regardless. :)
This is such wonderful news that i feel almost gruntled.
I hope the land of St. David treated you well.
It did indeed. I cannot think of enough superlative language to describe it adequately. I can't wait to go back.
