Back from my adventure and still recovering from the transition to Real Life. I have had too much on my plate to begin new pages, but I have not forgotten! Indeed, I am HIGHLY inspired and cannot wait to get back into the groove.
Meanwhile, just to have something to post, here's an Eilonwy shot, straight from Caer Dallben. :) This would be her about 5 years after the events of The Book of Three. If I ever make it to Book 5....
Model and editor: yours truly
Dress by Armstreet, check 'em out on etsy.
Necklace by Echo and Wild, also on etsy.
*O* Ahhh so pretty! Amazing shot!! You know, I'm super cool and do this stuff too lol! (I'll PM you about it!) :DD I hope you had an amazing time!!
Wow, great shot! Prydain cosplay is something I never in my life even imagined I'd see, and to see it done so well... it's really wonderful. So glad you had a fun and successful trip.
It was so fantastic. I can't even express how much I loved every second (barring the worst airline experience of my life).
I've seen a couple of cosplays floating around, but no, you're right, there isn't much at all. Next plan is for my husband to get involved and do a Gwydion/Achren shoot. ;) Have to start gathering the costume bits for that.
Wow, so beautiful... O_O
I can't remember the timeline -- would five years on be after the end of the series, or was it longer than that from "The Book of Three" to "The High King?" I can't recall how many years Eilonwy spent with her relatives on the island. I have the impression that "Taran Wanderer" took place over about one year, and each of the other adventures was a few weeks long, but the amount of time between books is fuzzy in my memory. In any case, you make a remarkably convincing High Queen Eilonwy here.
The timeline itself is fuzzy and highly open to interpretation, but without getting buried in detail, I think she's about fourteen at the beginning of the series and about nineteen at the end, give or take a year.
That ain't no cosplay, that's jess plain purty.
The "ain't" isn't one of the grammer errors above. Get some book-learnin' in ya' if'n you think it wuz. Also, the accent closest to Shakespeare's English (Shakespeare use'd the lovely contraction, "ain't") is a ... West by God Virginian one.
I think many would be astonished to learn what sort of language was in common usage back in the day that we would consider ignorant or offensive now.
(wow, such long hair!)
(It's a wig. I do have long hair but not that long, haha)
Just a question: Where did you get you Eilonwy-cosplay wig in this photo? (By the way, this picture is gorgeous! Such an awesome Eilonwy cosplay!)
Thank you! I bought it off ebay, but I cannot remember the seller and it was so long ago it isn't in my history anymore. Sorry - I wish I could be more help! It was a rare find - very thick and long and the cap actually fit my 23.5" head, which is typically quite impossible to get hold of from the cosplay sellers since the cheap wigs all come from Asia where apparently my head size makes me a mutant Amazon. It was not cheap...over $200 as I recall, but I've gotten a lot of good use out of it.
You look great! I'm always amazed by cosplay that is done really well. I feel like I'm looking at a photo taken from a live action Prydain movie.
Thanks! It was a lot of fun shooting “on location” as it were, and since this was taken I’ve also played Achren (which my age makes far more believable lol). I’ll share a few of those sometime. Extra art like that usually goes to my devart and Facebook pages.
