The bards wrote a song about this, you all. 800 years later, little Prydainian nursery school children still sing it.
Spiral Castle's falling down,
Falling down, falling down,
Spiral Castle's falling down...
But is there a fair lady?
I think the fair lady was Achren!
Wow, awesome page...
awww... no seeing their faces as they land on top of each others... =S ='(
Sorry, I thought that would take away from the action!
Well, that might have been - but it would have been hilarious... ;)
Good Lord! That's terrifying! How long did it take you to draw?
This was actually another page by my husband. It took him three or four hours to do the castle and landscape, and then I spent another hour on it refining and doing FX.
Now that's what I call lightning!
And what I call a really nice special FX brush. lol
I JUST realized that the entire castle being destroyed may have been directly caused by Eilonwy taking that fancy sword.
Also, Achren (if she survives) I imagine will be most unhappy.
I like the transparency effect on the "GUUROOM". It's subtle, but striking.
You realized more than I did, the first time I read this. ;)
Yeah I wanted a very big, muscular sound effect for the collapse while yet not obscuring too much detail of the castle (my husband was already complaining about how much of his hard work I was covering up) and transparency sort of straddled the fence and kept both. In my ongoing struggle to master sound effects, it's another tool in the box.
Thank you! I’m glad you are still following!
I took a short break (15 days?) to organize the things at work and my series. But I'm back to the community, 100% ready to another round ^^
Okay, yes, maybe not taking Alexander so literally as regards what exactly the castle collapse looks like is probably the best approach here. Anyway it is a spanking good approach.
I sometimes have a tough time reconciling the canonical text with the film in my mind. In this case the film won.
Wow! This page is just outstanding! I love the lightning and the rubble and debris breaking off the castle as it collapses.
As I recall, my husband helped me a lot with this page too. He’s very good at dramatic compositions, and he likes explosions. Like most guys, lol.
Heck yeah! Who doesn't like a big explosion! :D
