Look! I'm alive! Mostly. I'm rolling on about 3 hours of sleep in 48, so let's blame any typos or weirdness on that. Meanwhile, I've got enough buffer for one/week updates for a bit; 2/week will have to wait for school to start.
Perhaps the interminable wait for this page can translate into the emotional state of its characters at the moment? Yes? Come on, throw me a bone.
Somehow, all I could think was:
"Never so weary, never so in woe,
Bedabbled with the dew and torn with briers,
I can no further crawl, no further go;
My legs can keep no pace with my desires."
So nice to see new pages again!
Omg new page yay!!! Thank you for accurately depicting how awful it is to travel through the woods most of the time.
It is indeed no walk in the park, especially with no trail. This page could have been twice as long and not an exaggeration about how grueling it can be.
Oh man, this page is just great. So visceral and wonderfully drawn, dang. (Also, running until you black out -- when you're probably not really that much of a regular runner, no less -- sounds like torture. Girl is tough. (Or maybe just impossibly stubborn...much like Taran, come to think of it! :P))
A bit of both, I should think! Unused to exertion at this level, while determined to show she can keep up and not be the hindrance Taran feared. To his credit, he never brings it up again, despite her weakness here.
Awww...
poor Eilonwy so exhausted... =S
seems she soon will only have rags left...
Wow, you must be exhausted as they by now =O
I hope you will get some more sleep soon...
I plan to! lol I'm just recovering from a lot of traveling, and the aftermath left me exhausted but ready to get back to work on this. Trying to settle back into routines is challenging.
Wow. This page. It's like a montage but without being montagey. Like a flurry. Very good. Very apropos.
It' okay, you can call it a montage, lol. I know it has become a bit of a film cliche, but there's still not many better ways to portray time passing. By all rights it should have gone on even longer, but certain fans get cranky with the vertical format, so...
Nice. There's a crazy amount of detail on the foliage of the first few panels. It's all very sharp.
I LOVE those kinds of custom brushes. I wish I had more of them.
I like the initial contrasting closeups of Taran's boot and Eilonwy's bare lower leg, and the way she holds onto Melyngar's stirrup but absolutely refuses to say a word or mount up herself until she finally collapses from exhaustion. Gurgi's woeful expression in the next to last panel is great, as is the transition from daylight to dusk to darkness.
Thank you Centcomm! When a comicfury legend is following I know I'm doing pretty well. ;)
