HOOOOLY SMOKES this was a long chapter. I am sincerely sorry about the missed updates, guys - my mojo took a big hit by a bunch of home projects that threw my whole environment out of whack. Trying to claw my way back out of the hole, now, and will do my best to regain consistency. There's no excuse for this page taking so long when two panels are even recycled straight from a previous scene. (I cheat. Don't tell anybody.)
For those who don't know the story...well, I'll just let you guess who just got mauled.
Well, there you go scaring all the people who haven't read the books half to death. Gosh, it's so violent! Glad you're back.
I gotta bring in action when I get a chance!
Trying to CLAW your way out, eh??
Nyuck, nyuck, nick.
har har har
Yay! You're back!
Also I haven't read the books and OH MY GOSH SOMEONE ACTUALLY GETS MAULED!?
Next page soon, please!
well, you'll just have to wait.
Just you wait, Taran Dallben, just you wait.
You'll try drawing but again you'll be too late.
Wolve'll be biting simultaenous,
's they prevent our getting famous,
just you wait Taran Dallben
just you wait.
I am, like Larry the Cable Guy, in a state of deep remorse. Lord, I 'pologize for that.
One day I'll be famous; I'll be rolling in loot
Go right up to Stan Lee and call him has-been old coot...
One evening the CEO of Disney will pine,
"We want all the Prydain film art to be your design.
"We screwed up the 'toon in eighty-foooouuuur
Now help us not to screw this one up mooooooooooore!
"All the people will celebrate our new adaptation
And forget all about that old cartoon abomination..."
"Thanks a lot, Bob," says I with a blush, "You're in luck,
'Cause all I ask is 20. million. bucks." BUM BA DUUUUUM
Love it! Disney really should hire you to storyboard the film, too.
Of course there's an excuse. We're lucky to get them at all...
That being said, I want them all done now!
So do I!
FINALLY! My F5 key has been getting a good workout. Welcome back.
I really like the grime on Taran's hands here. Prydain isn't an excessively gritty place, but I don't imagine an Assistant Pig-Keeper would be too fastidious about how clean his hands are, under the circumstances.
He's been through a lot in the past few days. Even accounting for the occasional wash in the streams they run across, they're all bound to be a mess by now.
I find this comic right Noe and i think that it's awesome:)
Nice to finally see a wolf in a chapter called The Wolves.
I know, right? Don't blame me; the author did it.
That wolf doesn't appear to have a particularly menacing expression, not that I would say that if it was lunging at me, but, you know, everyone has an opinion about everything. I'm going to cast my vote for "not lethal to the hero" for $500, Alex. :)
Also, are you nuts?! Only $20 million? You should ask for full creative control, royalties, options on any sequels AND the $20 million upfront. :D
That is an astute observation, underscoring familiarity with canine body language. A wolf snarl is difficult to misread, but expression is somewhat less specific here!
Also, of course I’m nuts! I’m doing this for FREE.
It's a good thing you're nuts then, because I can't afford paying you to showcase your talent and skill creating something I enjoy reading on a regular basis. :)
Reminds me of my 'Ol Faithful Bullet, the black German Shepherd I had when I was 10. He probably outweighed me and used to have the same expression before playfully pounding me to the ground...
...Forgot to give my compliments to the poets, by the way. Always something entertaining around here!
Briavael says, "No you don't! No drawn blades allowed in our valley." What a great action scene.
What a cliffhanger ending!
This chapter had a lot of different things going on, and it was a great opportunity to showcase just how talented you are. The action sequence with the Cauldron-Born and getting to see Eilonwy's magic was super cool. The landscapes may have been the highlight as they were breathtaking. As always, the characters looked fantastic, but there were some panels in this chapter where it looks like you really upped your game because there was some stunning Eilonwy and Taran artwork. And as if all that wasn't enough...
What a cliffhanger ending!
As someone else pointed out, it takes a long time in a chapter called "The Wolves" to get to the wolves at last, and then...boom! Done! LOL
Glad you enjoyed!
Who is crying out "Taran" here? Someone showing unrestrained concern for him at last? Or was it Fflewddur? Does the font give us a clue? :-)
Could be either one, or both of them.
