I believe I said something about faster updates.
Hopefully worth the wait.
Ah, when compassion gets complicated.
Of course it's worth the wait.
Always worth the wait!
And I love how Alexander's stuff always gets nuanced in terms of morality without lazily sliding down the path of least resistence into edgelord cynicism.
And at the mention of gwythaints, Medwyn grows serious. Even Taran's face seems heavy at the memories in that last panel. This whole issue is a major character-development arc for Taran: he's already more sensitive and deeply compassionate towards animals than most anyone else, considering the offer Medwyn will make to him soon. But the upcoming conversation pushes him further and deeper into understanding and empathy and away from his shallow ideal of the hero-warrior always ready to solve problems with violence. It will force him to show real courage later on [SPOILER ALERT], standing against his own friends to offer compassion to one they don't see as deserving of it, and yet interestingly, winds up making him more like Gwydion, who himself becomes more understanding of animals (in a different way) - the fact that the same creature leaves Taran and approaches Gwydion draws attention to their parallel development in this story.
Always worth the wait... and with tummy scritches, even more so! Look at that back foot flapping! Who's a good doggie?
I can feel the rebuke coming in the squeeze of Medwyn's eyes!
So you say Taran... that's what you think... ;)
“I said ‘respect’,young Jedi; I said nothing about ‘like’.”
Lovely. I especially like the sunset light on the mountains in the background; we just had a sunset like that here the night before last, with stratocumulus clouds over most of the sky shading from orange to pink to purple. The wolf acting like a puppy is delightful, and as always the facial expressions are spot on.
That's the final test. Be compassionate about someone or something that wants to kill you XD Can't blame you, Taran my boy. (Now, don't give respect to a creature just because it's "ugly"? That's what I call "evil".)
Listen closely, Taran. This also applies to a certain saucy minx in your retinue.
