Interrupting your not-so-regularly-scheduled comic for this announcement.

After long hiatus this project is back in production under new management. We are currently casting for multiple roles for The Book of Three; everyone but Taran, Gwydion, Achren, and Gurgi. If you’re an actor, theatre buff, or musician, and want to try your hand at an audition, the link is Here.

Good luck!

Blast. Achren is really the only role in this book that suits my voice in a radio drama. Call me back for Black Cauldron, I guess

This is wildly off topic, but -- I'd love to know who signs themselves "Heart of the Heroes, Ride". I LOVE that line! (And used another phrase from the same passage as the title of a science fiction novel.)

Using lines next door to extracts for the titles of science fiction novels seems like the kind of thing I'd do, but I can't remember when, so please refresh me. Also and more importantly: do I correctly understand that there is a science fiction novel called something along the lines of "The Silent Earthquake-Lands"? If so, what is it about???

Sub-announcement: NO ONE has yet auditioned for the part of Eilonwy! I might have to do it myself just to inspire people who can do it better.

To illustrate by contrast: there are three takers for the role of Coll. Either this fandom is much more male than I think it is, or the fault is not in general enthusiasm but in personal confidence.

It astonishes me greatly, but I think it may just be time constraints; I know the role is highly sought and have already had about twelve people contact me privately to ask me about appropriate accents and such. So the interest is absolutely there. I do wonder if there may be a certain amount of intimidation and not wanting to be "the first" to post, but I really think it's just girls wanting to warm up a little before they commit to a reading.

As you can imagine I am very emotionally invested in finding the right voice for this role, and can only hope we have plenty to choose from.

I'm so happy I found this adaptation. You have done an amazing job on this and can't wait to see the rest. I wish Disney would take note of what you're doing you and hire you to.adapt it for them. From what I've seen while reading your Book of Three, you're one of the few that would do Lloyd's work justice.

Keep up the amazing work,

Mao_Wanderer

Oh my, thank you so much for this. I am so happy to be discovered by those who appreciate the heart and work I’ve put into this enough to comment. I’ve got so many projects going that it is indeed a challenge to be very consistent with this, but God willing I will see it through to the end of The Book of Three. I can’t make promises for anything after that, but it will be a great accomplishment on its own.

Ditto Mao!

Many of us upon discovering this site have made a similar observation. In fact, after following Saeriellyn's work for a while, I doubt anyone on the planet would be better suited for the job.

I have a friend that works for Disney. I let him know about this amazing project, and he promised to pitch it to the 'higher ups'. Obviously I don't know that anything will come of it. But I thought it was worth mentioning.
On another note: I read The Book of Three with my 6th grade students every year. And I've been supplementing it with this graphic adaptation. They really appreciate it, especially the ESL students that often need a visual aid to help them as they continue to master the language. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Well, they've already had the film pitched to them, took the suggestion, and showed the gentlemen who did the pitching the door. Since their announcement in 2016 that they were planning a new adaptation, they've put out absolutely zero word on doing anything, and frankly I don't believe they are the least bit interested in pursuing the property. My own husband works for them, gets notified pretty early on about upcoming films, and says so far there is no buzz about it. But hey, I'm willing to be wrong, as long as they don't attempt to shut me down for doing fanwork. I really hope they /don't/ take any notice of this project, since if they decided to do it, I won't be able to.

I'm happy my comic is helping introduce a new generation of kids to Prydain!

Don’t sweat too much about audio quality with the audition. If you’re cast then you can worry about it. A little background noise in the read isn’t going to affect any decisions, as long as people have access to good equipment once cast.

Give us your best UK accent! It doesn’t have to be welsh. If you do a stellar RP, that works.

Come on guys... to quote the immortal meme Shia Lebeouf..."Do it!!! Just do it!!!"

Especially my fellow lady readers, don't leave me and one other girl to be the only voices these creators have to choose from for Eilonwy! They've worked too hard for this! It's fun, painless and you'll never know if you don't try.

There is no harm, and only possible good. Please consider it as your payment to her for all the beautiful comics!

"Just...Do it!"
