Good girls don't make history.
Are you ready, Saeriellyn? Because I am so very ready! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
For my purpose in life? I'd say so!
Impromptu dance party!
The arrival of Eilonwy has been pretty hyped in the comments on the pages leading up to this point. I'm excited to finally meet this character.
She's been my alterego since I was about sixteen, and was the reason these books made such a permanent impression upon me. You'll find her slightly less developed and possibly a little more obnoxious in the actual book; my interpretation of her is heavily weighted by the twenty years I've spent living in her mind and writing fanfiction about her, and there are a few areas where I've pushed her actions and reactions into more prominence than the original text did. Lloyd was quite groundbreaking for creating a heroine as progressive as she was at the time; nowadays when Mouthy Girl who Hangs with the Boys has become a trope of its own, she's a bit less novel, and more is expected.
As you witness, she has many fans, so my love for her is by no means unique; particularly among the girl readers she tends to score major brownie points by virtue of being, unfortunately, the ONLY female character we get to see more than a few pages of. But I'll stop babbling now and let you get on with the chapter, lol.
